Circus lore and history. This is a book of circus life, not an
autobiography, the theme being greater than the individual. The
author was a rough rider at the age of 10 yrs, an animal performer
at 16 yrs and a trainer of horses and wild beasts at the age of 22.
A hardback first edition with 139 coloured and sepia illustrations
from old prints and pictures, and photographs. 120 pages including
an index plus 32 page publisher's catalogue including an author
index.
Condition:
Browning to edges of pages, and some foxing of pages due to age.
There is no dustjacket and the cover of this book is damaged, with
the spine partly detached and the bottom part of the spine torn.
