CIRCUS LIFE is a vivid and authentic picture of the once familiar but now fast disappearing world of the circus. Here the characters are sometimes comic, sometimes sad, but all are larger than life with extraordinary stories to tell. John Allin's pictures show both the little known, behind-the-scenes life of circus people as well as the glamour and excitement of the Big Top. While painting these pictures, John Allin spent two years living and travelling with Gerry Cottle's circus.

John Allin, winner in 1979 of the coveted Grand Prix du Concours Naif International Suisse, has had no formal art training, yet his paintings are now widely exhibited and sought by art collectors worldwide. In England, John Allin exhibits at the Portal Gallery, London.
