The Sphinx, a major landmark within Dreamland, was removed in the 1980s.

Into the 1970s, the Scenic Railway station was now fully enclosed, complete with colourful lights.

In the early 1980s, the Scenic Railway remained hugely popular. By now the ride was dwarfed by the new Big Wheel.

In the early 1980s, a train is hoisted up the lift hill by the Scenic Railway's unique cable system.
