Reputedly the largest outdoor show in the world, the Great Dorset
Steam Fair is an extraordinary annual event attracting hundreds of
thousands of visitors. From the might of the heavy haulage to the
serenity and majesty of the heavy horses, the fair has something for
everyone. In this programme we focus on working tractors and what
are many visitors' favourite exhibits - the lovingly maintained
showman engines. We're then ringside in the parade ground to see a
host of interesting owners with their pride and joys from classic
cars to a scale replica of a Scammell Pioneer.
