MERLIN'S PLAYGROUND

It was getting near dinner time and themagiceye was a little behind schedule (that's got to be a good sign hasn't it?).

Merlin's Playground includes:

Falcon's Flight: (Children under 1.2m must be accompanied by an adult on this ride). This was a carousel consisting of a number of balloons that went up in the air as they turned (pictured right).

The average age of riders utilising Bertie Bassett's liquorice allsorts themed Driving School must have between 5 -6 years. If themagiceye remembers correctly there was a small extra charge for this.

What else was there?

Cup N' Sorcerer: small scale spinning cups.

Playland Express: A mini train that went around in a circle.

Kiddies Indoor Playland, a junior Galleon type ride and a small scale Sky Divers carousel type of ride.

Junior jousting horses were situated nearby. Not a carousel, but a number of horses that followed a small undulating track. (There is a max height ride restriction of 1.2m in place for this attraction).

What else was there in Merlin's Playground? Well, a carousel - every park should have one (max ride height 1.2m on the small horses and 1.5m on the large horses).

This ride should not be confused with Sir Lancelot's Chargers (pictured, right), a rather grand two tier carousel out on a limb by itself near Squire Bumpkin's Farm, but no worse off for it (children under 1.2m should be accompanied by an adult). This ride, themagiceye thinks, was new for 2005.

Right next door to Squire Bumpkin's Farm was The Junior Dragon Coaster. This junior powered 'steelie' was built in 1992 and relocated to its current position in 1998. It used to reside in the park near Pendragon's Plunge.
