STORIES FROM THE SOUTH PARK (Page 4 of 6)

When I worked on the Revolution we had to ride across to the other side to operate from the north side which was quite enjoyable. However, there was this one guy who was a bit older who refused point blank to go on the ride.

When it was his turn to operate from the North side he would go all the way down the steps and all the way up the north side stairs which would take about ten minutes instead of the thirty seconds it should take.

When he eventually got up to the other side we would phone him up and say, "Sorry, there's been a mix up. It's not your turn, can you come back?".

During a very busy weekend when two monorail trains were running, one train ran into the back of the other train in the central station. It was only very slowly, no one was hurt, and little or no damage was done but the operator's reason for not seeing the other train was: "I was reading the Argos catalogue".

That was the end of his short career at the Pleasure Beach!
