| Julia
Midgley is Reader in Documentary Drawing at Liverpool School of Art
& Design, Liverpool John Moores University; Associate Member of
the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers (ARE); a member of Manchester
Academy of Fine Arts; and the Paintmakers Council. Examples of her
work feature in private, public and corporate collections in the UK
and abroad. |

| She began her
residency at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in June 2000 as part of Year of
the Artist, during which period she was also Artist in Residence for
Granada Television's Regional Programmes Department. Julia has
practised as a documentary artist for many years. From 1997-1999 she
was Artist in Residence at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen
University Hospital Trust. Co-incidentally one of Julia's first solo
exhibitions in the mid 1970s was at the Grundy Art Gallery, Blackpool.
An exhibition of her Blackpool
Pleasure Beach was displayed at The Gallery at The Globe,
Blackpool Pleasure Beach, in 2002.
