Maurice
Carre was born in France in 1936, a member of one of the most
celebrated equestrian families. He mastered Les Jeux Romains,
standing on the backs of four galloping horses, in Cirque Medrano in
Paris.In 1954, the Carres
went to South Africa with WH Wilkie's Circus from England. Maurice
was one of the youngest ringmasters, singing and wearing a range of
coloured tailcoats. His interest in marketing and promotion resulted
in him becoming the show's Press & Public Relations Manager, the
show's producer, director and managing director of the Boswell-Wilkie
Circus.
Now living in Spain, Maurice has
most recently been the manager and ringmaster for the highly
successful Moscow State Circus tour in South Africa.
