The
Circus Friends Association (CFA) was founded in 1934, at a time when
'Lord' George Sanger's Circus was at its height. Although 'Lord'
George Sanger's life as a circus proprietor has been well described,
in his own Seventy Years a Showman, this is the first published
study of 'Lord' John Sanger's Circus:
- Pimpo, a versatile artiste who
parodied many circus skills,
- Sanger's Elephants,
- Royal Cream Horses and Ponies,
- Clemens Merk and his Lions,
- Dick Turpin's Ride to York.
Illustrated with photos, programmes
and posters from the CFA Archive and private collections.
