Terry Regan
Terry Regan, a
happily married Blackpool man, is a graduate of Tyldesley School and the
‘School Of Hard Knocks’. He and his wife Jean have six children, eight
grandchildren, and two Scottie Dogs! By day he is a local builder,
whilst in his spare time he is a writer/historian, having had several
articles published at home and abroad, plus the odd TV and radio
appearance. His particular interests centre on the history of
Lancashire, especially Blackpool, with a bias towards the area’s links
to the American Civil War. He is presently writing a book concerning
certain aspects of this war.
Andrew Hazlehurst
Andrew Hazlehurst has
been visiting Blackpool to see the Illuminations for the last thirty
years. In 1986 he attended the Illumination Department's Open Day which
fuelled his enthusiasm for the annual spectacle. Ever since then, he
has been a regular visitor to the Open Days and forged links with
successive Directors and Managers. He is now one of the most
knowledgeable people on the subject and was delighted to be approached
to co-write the history of the Illuminations. Andrew is a school teacher
and lives in Derbyshire.
