First Drop is the magazine of the
European Coaster Club. Starting out as a basic photocopied magazine,
it has developed into what many regard as the world's best roller
coaster magazine. This glossy, professionally produced magazine
comes packed with articles on coasters from around the world, and is
stuffed full of photographs, some of which are in colour. This
magazine has chronicled the development of roller coasters for
almost 30 years, and continues to be Europe's premier roller coaster
magazine - these back issues are a fascinating and nostalgic read.
This set includes the double issue
(28/29), which features the opening of two wooden rollercoasters in
the UK: Megafobia and Antelope. Issue 30 has various reviews of
Megafobia. Issue 31 is a special issue celebrating 100 years of
Blackpool Pleasure Beach with multiple articles covering such
diverse subjects as the Big Dipper, Lost Roller Coasters (The
Switchback Railway, The Velvet Coaster and The Scenic Railway),
Maxim's Flying Machine, The Fun House, The Virginia Reel and the
Noah's Ark.
