In the year before the Great War,
Savages of King's Lynn built fairground rides for showmen all over
the world. In 1901 they built a set of Steam yachts for the Leeds
amusement caterer, John Wilkie Waddington. After the Second World
War, when most rides were being burned, it was saved by Harry Lee,
who devoted the rest of his working life to preserving this unique
example of fairground history.
