Exceptionally rare brochure and
history of Frederick Savage Ltd, published in the 1960s by the
engineering company which is most famous for building fairground
rides. This is a revised and
enlarged version of the 1950 publication '100 - Not Out'. It
includes an introduction by Managing Director J. Stephenson
Pilling, and a painstakingly written history of the company,
detailing many of its mechanical creations. Rides featured include
Thirty Galloping Cockerels, Gondola Switchback, Sea-on-Land,
Steam Swings and Razzle Dazzle, as well as numerous showmen's
engines and other portable engines. The booklet includes
photographs of the rides and transport, including several
technical drawings.
This is one of the most
sought-after and collectable fairground publications.
