photographic collection depicting showmen and their fun fairs within
the County of Wiltshire. This pictorial record is published as a
social history of this typically English tradition. Includes
Edwards, Jennings, Scarrotts, Knightons and Smarts Family Fairs with
their transport from 1900 to 1990. Scarce title.
Comes with the previous owner's
cuttings and photographs, loosely stored inside the front cover.
These include two October 1974 cuttings ("Tradition triumphs at
Marlborough" and "Weather improves for Big Mop"), two identical
prints of a town centre fair, a 2013 print of a model Big Wheel, and
a print of a Big Wheel at a fair.
Condition: Fine in Very Good
