The centre of the brilliant Gallopers Carousel was manufactured by Savages of Kings Lynn and was unused for many years.
The running boards and horses were constructed in the 1960s by Ron Towler of Rhyl, North Wales. The building was made by Trevor White of Colchester and was erected in 1987.
The 52-key band organ was built in 1968 by Verbeeks of Brecht, Belgium
(well that's what it says about the ride on a board
nearby!).
Altogether a hybrid of an attraction that stands adjacent
to The Steeplechase and The Pepsi Max Big One.
No longer referred to as The Gallopers. From
the 2004 season this ride is now known as The Carousel.
