The Building of a Classic Wooden Roller Coaster.

In 1973, the Great American Scream Machine opened at Six Flags Over Georgia and was the tallest roller coaster in the world. Standing over 100ft tall, everyone in the world was amazed at how high roller coasters could be built.

In 2003, The Great American Scream Machine celebrated its 30th anniversary, and this documentary was uncovered, dusted off, and screened at the anniversary celebration at Six Flags Over Georgia.

In this '70s documentary, take a look back at the design, construction, testing, and finally the grand opening of this wonderful wooden coaster. See exclusive never-before-seen interviews with the designer, John Allen, of the Philadelphia Toboggan Company. Don't miss your chance to get a glimpse back into the past at the construction of this great all American classic wooden roller coaster, The Great American Scream Machine.
