Theme Parkology is
excited to release yet
another classic
attraction form the
Happiest Place on Earth,
The Country Bear
Jamboree. In 1971, a new
bear band made its debut
at Walt Disney World in
Florida and quickly
became a favourite among
guests. Originally, the
Country Bears was set to
perform in a ski resort
to be located in Mineral
King Valley of Sequoia
National Forest, but it
was soon decided to
expand the talented
auto-animatronics into a
wide array of bears
signing and playing home
made instruments at
Disney's Florida theme
park, Disney World.
This knee-slapping,
hip-swinging,
finger-snapping
documentary covers the
bear band's humble
beginnings as a draft
idea for a ski resort to
its permanent home at
Walt Disney World and
its sister theme parks.
It shares a lip-singing
ride through one of its
performances.
This 47 minute
documentary has a rare
interview with Disney
imagineer and puppeteer,
Terri Hardin, who
animated two of the
life-size animatronic
bears from the 2002
film, The Country Bears.
